- Invasive Plant Control Activites in the MCWMA: February, 2006
- European beachgrass removal, 259 hours by park aides,

- BRS workday, 6 hours staff, 24 hours by volunteers
- Iceplant removal, MacKerricher, DPR staff, 5 hours
- Broom removal, Russian Gulch State Park, DPR staff, 3 hours
- Weed survey and eradication, Mendocino Ag staff, ?? hours
- Weed management, CDF staff, ?? hours
- Totals: hours= 314, value = $5060, acres/miles = ??
- Projects Workgroup meeting held April 6, 2006

- Waste disposal options were discussed. Webpage will be published giving options and conditions when each is appropriate.
- Project checklists for 4 weed management projects were reviewed. The Highway 1 & 20 site was selected as the preferred site for the NFWF demonstration project.

Next Projects Workgroup meeting has not been scheduled.
- Plans
- MCWMA Partners will vote to approve the preferred demonstration site on May 2, 10-12 on site.
- Caltrans will remove pampas grass at the Highway 1 & 20 intersection in early May.
- Hire a student intern to assist in data entry for invasive plant management information
once a procedure has been developed.
- Needs (if you can assist with any of these items, please contact Tara Athan at coord@mcwma.org)
- Organizations with liability insurance coverage willing to sponsor volunteer invasive plant removal events.
- Information on any other ways coverage of volunteer invasive plant workers could be addressed.
- Reporting on a monthly basis paid or volunteer invasive plant control activites (using the
In-Kind Reporting Form
).
