- MCWMA intern Dan Young was trained by Peter in seed collection techniques. Over the summer, Dan has collected a significant quantity of native grass seed to be used for revegetation at the demonstration project site.
- Local nurseries and native plant enthusiasts were contacted concerning the need to
revegetate the demonstration project site. Donations have been arranged.
- Group II has verbally agreed to allow collection of Douglas iris bulbs on the Hare Creek lot, and
to allow us to burn piles of the Scotch broom slash on their property, in exchange for removal of Scotch broom on their property in the vicinity of the fence and a share in the
bulbs.
- Weed wrenches (one of each size) have been purchased in anticipation of the winter weed removal season. These will be available for short-term loan to residents of the MCWMA and Inland Mendocino CWMA as well.
- Plans
- Use a student intern to assist in data entry for invasive plant management information
once a procedure has been developed. Note: pilot data is needed in order to develop a procedure- see below.
