Set agenda for the MCWMA Steering Committee meeting on Wednesday Nov 16 8. date for next planning meeting Meeting is called to order about 10:00. Tentative- the meeting in Gualala is on Dec. 9th, Tara will confirm with Lori 1. Caspar meeting about 15 in attendance, including WMA participants paperwork went fine live display was effective but time consuming to set up Eucalyptus The question of chainsaw use was raised, issues are training and certification Discussion: CCC or fire crews need opportunities to cut trees State Parks could make areas available permits are needed inmate crews- scheduling is tight CCC- can be expensive unless they need to fill their schedule how to handle wood MAPA would in principle handle wood Broom: lopping is in general not effective, needs to be monitored resprout from base, makes it harder to weed-wrench ground disturbance is a factor long-term goal- mowing is not going to accomplish it if stump sprouted, need to trim before pulling Gorse: there is community concern, but is an overwhelming problem - adopt an outlier strategy - plan a gorse mapping event- GPS 2. Tara's contract Define billable hours, schedule and deliverables Would also be useful to have objectives take duration of contract, objectives from proposal bulleted list with deliverable for each one 4. MOA was modifed during meeting, Tara will check with Jan Olave on modifications, if OK, will present at WMA meeting Nov. 16 5. Strategic Plan Peter will try to develop a similar structure for each section of Plan from each workgroup following notes from E&O meeting, but also >add over-arching principles to Section 1, >put specific principles in each section, >iterate to determine which principles apply to all Peter will get format out by Jan 1, workgroups/committees will meet again in January 6. not discussed directly 7.
