November 9, 2005
Summary of Action Items
1. Confirm date of Gualala meeting (Tara, Peter)
2. For Mendocino meeting
	a) set learning objectives
	b) modify mapping format (Tara will bring maps)
	c) circulate sign-up sheet for mapping volunteers
	d) bring clipboards, pencils, more markers

Meeting is called to order about 10:00.
Tentative- the meeting in Gualala is on Dec. 9th, 
	Tara will confirm with Lori

1. Caspar meeting
about 15 in attendance, including WMA participants
paperwork went fine
live display was effective but time consuming to set up

Eucalyptus
The question of chainsaw use was raised, 
	issues are training and certification
Discussion: CCC or fire crews need opportunities to cut trees
	State Parks could make areas available
	permits are needed
	inmate crews- scheduling is tight
	CCC- can be expensive unless they need to fill their schedule
	how to handle wood
	MAPA would in principle handle wood

Broom:
lopping is in general not effective, needs to be monitored
resprout from base, makes it harder to weed-wrench
ground disturbance is a factor
long-term goal- mowing is not going to accomplish it
if stump sprouted, need to trim before pulling

Gorse: there is community concern, but is an overwhelming problem
- adopt an outlier strategy
- plan a gorse mapping event- GPS

2. Plans for Mendocino Meeting
For informational segment: for next time- set 3 objectives
Mapping - plans for next time
	individual maps on single 8x11
	plus form
	don't use color coding, number and indicate species on form


circulate sign-up sheet for mapping volunteers
-need clipboards (Tara will bring)

Peter needs help setting up
Tara will copy maps on color copier
Lynn can print out more forms

Peter will do the samples, 4-5 of each
	cape ivy- evident now, native marah is not out

Peter- setup with suggestions of easy things to do for control


Lynn will do refreshments

Tara will do paper set-up
	put address on impact form

Tables- Lynn will get more, 
	ask Clare to come early to help set-up
	send out e-mail asking for help setting up tables at 3PM
	e-mail reminders- one in advance, one 24-48 hrs before 


Mendocino meeting-
spots on 3 radio stations, 2 local papers
Peter may try to post flyers
Lynn will talk to garden club on Monday

Lynn has materials on invasive plants, including the fire hazard of broom

Mendocino High School SONAR
Bill Lemos- Tara will call school
invite to this meeting
Mendocino Rotary Club?

Asides:
Peter is developing road survey protocol
Tara- remind Mona about cape ivy distribution request
Lynn- progress on liability with volunteers

3. Tara's contract
Define billable hours, schedule and deliverables
Would also be useful to have objectives

take duration of contract, objectives from proposal
bulleted list with deliverable for each one

4. MOA was modifed during meeting,
Tara will check with Jan Olave on modifications,
if OK, will present at WMA meeting Nov. 16

5. Strategic Plan
Peter will try to develop a similar structure for each section of 
Plan from each workgroup

following notes from E&O meeting, but also
>add over-arching principles to Section 1, 
>put specific principles in each section, 
>iterate to determine which principles apply to all

Peter will get format out by Jan 1, 
workgroups/committees will meet again in January
